View from Norm's Place“Imagine gazing at the Caribbean's turquoise waters from a hammock strung between two palm trees. The hotel chefs who offered either fresh lobster or shrimp for dinner will soon bring the dishes to the beach. Cocktails are quickly refreshed.

An ideal, relaxing vacation — in Haiti.”

(“Company touting Haiti for vacations”-- USA Today, Aug. 21, 2006)

I certainly can remember it, and not too long ago. In fact, there are numerous travel destinations in Haiti still accessible to everyday people. Flights from Ft. Lauderdale, FL are almost daily to Cap Haitian. The Citadel, Labadee, and the Palace San Souci are all worth the trek.

ToHaiti.com is a sight for sore eyes, and a most welcomed one at that. Anyone even considering a vacation to the Caribbean would be remiss to neglect Haiti. A vibrant culture and rich history, white sand beaches and tree-toped mountains, Haiti will temper the most hardened traveler and pamper even the most affluent.
